auto resize banner ads ? is it possile

Using the current modern theme for gen classifieds and running a banner across the top the width is 690 * 85 or abouts > this is slightly smaller than the standard 728 * 90.

using picture manager we can reduce the image to 94% and get the correct size to 684 * 85 /.

If i upload a standard 728 image it just chops the right side and the bottom, is there a way this could auto resize the image based on width or hight as much the same as uploading any picture where size can be set, for example the box with is set to 684 it should resize the with down and and auto control depth as that % to 85.

This would be better than upsetting people and having them all re size their images before they are loaded ?

Second this. I had to manually fix their banners some some companies put banners on my site.
Same with logo in the useraccount.
