phone number format

I'm thinking about how to set my phone number format. 99% of my phone numbers will be (xxx) yyy-zzzz but a few will be international and have extra digits.
If I set the format to (xxx) yyy-zzzz 99% of the numbers will look nice but 1% won't be able to enter their international format.
Have others thought about a similar issue and how to deal with it?

i have the same issue, been living with it.
format should be +61 xxxxxxxxxx that way you can use any countries number regardless how many digits there are.
