cronjob not updating the sidebar box

I have set up a cronjob but it doesnt update the sidebar so it just says.

Total: 499
New: 5

To get rid of that 5 i need to update the site manually thru the adminpanel.

How do i set up the cronjob to update that aswell ?
I took the cronjob code i found here on the forums.
