Thread: Store the ip of user

    Store the ip of user

    Hello!

How to implement saving the user's ip address during registration and when adding a new listing, so that the Administrator can see this in the user information, as well as in the information about each listing to find out which IP it's been added from?

    Thanks Joe,

But I've read all threads about IP address before opening this thread, but couldn't find 100% solution. So I don't need for reading and wasting my time. If you know a real working solution please share with me.
I think this feature should not be possible by the plugin, because using many plugins slows down site speed. Years ago I have purchased a script for 28$ in some online markets that has lots of useful features including this one, where all the listings info has poster's IP with possibility blocking. I don't want to say that that script is better than flynax, but it's just a shame that such an advanced script like flynax does not have such a vital feature, and I as an admin feel myself very weak. Blocking IP is not so important but we as an admin need to know what IP this listing is added from.
I'd like phone blocking feature rather than IP blocking, because 99.9% of users do not have a stable Ip addresses.

    Hello,

Why you don't consider the AutoRegPrevent plugin?

it does the same thing you need i.e. tracks all user IPs when trying to add a listing or register

it is the reason why we don't implement anything more

Always a good idea to list what you have already done, so others better know to address your issues.

Otherwise, you waste your time reading unnecessary posts.

Here is the AutoRegPrevent plugin at work:

    Hello Rudi,

    Because:
First we have to be able to see Ip of listing poster without using third party services like https://www.stopforumspam.com/ or other,
Second tried to find ip of any user in flynax demo there are no IPs. Where can I see IPs?

I am wondering why the third link I posted above was not what you were looking for:

It sounds almost exactly what you wrote in your original post?

Probably a bit outdated but a starting point?

IPs should be in this page,
    2021-07-09_150637.jpg

or at least in this page.

And for admin's convenience(for proper usability) all the info including video and picture view and editing should be possible on one single Admin Panel >Listings > Edit Listing page.

There are a lot of users adding listings with different phones and emails, different titles but the same descriptions and other violations, and in these and many other cases IPs help to expose them.
Relying on my experience to block most of Ips is not a good idea, because after blocking some of them I started to get emails and calls from users, saying that this is my first ad but it says "your IP has been blocked because of the violation of site rules".
