I was playing around with z-index property in the inspector, I achieved a look for the menu across the top of the page (main navigation) that I think looks good, but I don't know if there is a trick for the z-index in my situation for it or not. What I would like to do, is where the sub-menu appears in the drop down menu, (Welcome, Visitor) I want the sub-menu (top part) to go behind the the main navigation menu so the box-shadow appears in front of the drop down menu giving it (sub-menu) the appearance of being pushed back. My first couple of tries at it only produced the entire sub-menu getting hidden by the homepage map, when I first found this I was on the post ad page, so I am guessing I would have to adjust all the z-indexes? Or can the main menu be the only required adjustment?
