    Go to Admin Panel >> Basic Settings >> General find the line: Map search on home page - and enable it.

    This setting is actually under Admin Panel .. Basic Setting >> Maps/Geocoding >> Map search on home page.

    This is with V4.8.0 at least, not sure about earlier versions.
