Is there a way for the listing the listing box display in nova home page to be seen as a list view and not as a block as we do in the categories section where we can choose see block or list view ?

The Listing Box plugin are using featured_item.tpl file. We can create a custom file and styles. I suggest you create a new ticket with the request of the customization.
