    Forms

    Hello,

    Can someone tell me:

Where does the changes reflect on the page for each of the forms? I have read through the manual, and couldn't quite get it other than trying it, and at that I am still struggling with them. Although I have figured out that the listing form has to do with the listing page, It's quite odd that after I build the forms for a category page, (ex: such as listing form) the content boxes information disappears.

I will leave this post for others to refer to as a 'cheat sheet' as I get this understood once and for all.

    For example:

    Category Forms:

    Build Listing Form:
    Build Browse Form:
    Build Listing Title:
    Build Featured Form:
    Build Sorting Form:

    Search Forms:

    Quick:
    My Listings:
    Advanced:

Listing Types: I understand there aren't any listing type forms, but there are configurations for the forms, I would appreciate someones brief explanation on these even by your experience as I have tried, tried and tried again coming up short. I need a boost. It's like every time I build the forms, something else goes wrong.
    Thank you - Your Welcome

    It is easy.

At first, you can set a general category for each listing type.
Open Admin Panel >> Listing Types click on the type and find the line: Primary Category.
Set any category and save. Then you need to build only this category. Build Listing form - this form fields will show on add listing page and listing detail page.
Browse form - this form will show fields on category, search and recently added pages.
Listing Title form - this form will show fields as title for listings on all pages and last part on url too for seo.
Featured form - this form will show fields on additional boxes on site. Which created by the system or maybe you will create with some plugins.

    See my screenshots below:

    I have followed your steps:

    1. Set a primary category for the listing type.
    2. built the forms for the category
    3. check the page.
    4. Edit: sorry about the content box part, I understand that is not for this thread. I got this post.

    Thank you!

    Hello Viktor,

Ok, referring to your first screenshot, it shows the featured form fields (country and condition)...How do I get those on the listing? I tried in the category builder (featured form) but I only have three fields:

    Title
    Description
    Category

Brian, you need to add them to your listing form not the featured form if you want them to show on listings.

    Hello Pete,

Screenshot #1: Added country to listing form

Screenshot #2: Pete, you are correct, that is how to do it, but it's still not on the correct page.

Screenshot #3: This is where I want to put the country on, but it should look like the first screenshot of Viktors post (https://prnt.sc/nqqqtp) on this page: https://www.worldclassads.com/classi...l-artists.html

I have checked your listing type Community where did you set general category: Local Artists
and checked build page for the category and I see only 2 fields: https://prnt.sc/nr7ppa
The 1st form which you should build is the Listing form.

    Set General Category Screenshot:

    Build Page for category Screenshot:

I built the listing form first, as you can see I have: Title, Description and Country fields displaying BUT the country field is on the wrong page. It's on this page:

    https://www.worldclassads.com/classi...rtists-24.html

I want it to be on this page: https://www.worldclassads.com/classi...l-artists.html

And also regarding this page: https://www.worldclassads.com/classi...l-artists.html

I want to remove the get more details content box from the bottom of that page, but keep it on the bottom of this page: https://www.worldclassads.com/classifieds/united-states/community/local-artists/feeling-confident-sample-listing-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-ipsum-lorem-0-united-states-local-artists-24.html

Edit: Regarding the get more details content box, I have commented out the listing_details_seller.tpl in the /general_modern/tpl/blocks folder because although that file displays the get more details content box I want to be able to have the flexibility to only use the content boxes to move things around if need be (and I would prefer to have the get more details below the listings). I find it very awkward to have to edit the template for some that can also be controlled by the admin panel (content box section)
