    How Tag Cloud Plugin works

    Hello

I have installed the Tag cloud plugin.
    How this plugin works?
Where this plugin grabs the tags?

And are users possible to add custom tags? If yes where?

I know this is an old post but Tag Clouds are important. Yes, they are generated automatically each time a visitor enters anything in the "search keyword" window on your website, However, these are not in themselves of any use until you fill them out with rich SEO content. If for example someone searches for "apartments for sale in London" on your Real Estate site and you want to attract this kind of visitor do the following:-

    Got to Admin>Plugins>Tag Cloud

You will see a list of every search which visitors have done through the keyword search panel. Many will be too vague such as "townhouse". If you want to enhance one of the existing tags edit it (press the little pencil icon).

You then get to add all the SEO meta data you want to create a customised page to attract search engines to index this type of query.

So then painstaking build the page by adding the Title, H1, Description, Meta data Description, keywords etc.

Do this in each language if you have many languages.

Then check out what the page looks like. It will be called "http://www.yourdomainname.com/search-for/xxxyyyyyzzzz.html" where the xxxxyyyyzz are your tags. So for example "http://www.yourdomainname.com/search-for/london-apartments-for-sale.html".

The page when you have finished must be of great quality. All keywords should certainly be in the Title, Description, Meta description enough times and consistently.

Then see how many visitors you receive. This is shown as "count" in the admin panel "Cloud Tag" page.

What you want is a set of near perfectly built pages one for each "search string" or tag which you want to get search engines to direct visitors to you for. You can use tools to check how well you have built each page by using such a tool and entering the url like the one above.

Cloud Tag pages can be useful for attracting more visitors if you use them correctly. Good luck.

You can also add links inside the html to search for the things the users is looking for, in this case apartments in London. Add anchor text "apartments for sale in London" too as this strengthens the SEO.

You dont have to wait for visitors to key in the search you can just add tags from the Cloud Tag Admin panel. "Add a tag" option at the top of the list of tags. See the "search" button too to seek out tags if you have too many.

The only drawback I see is that on my site there is a bit of a delay in loading the tags page. This may reduce the chances it has of getting indexed by Google or other search engine which want a fast page.
