    Category Dropdown Menu Problem

    Hello Guys

I have noticed that on my home page in the category dropdown menu section for search i have category names that show like these example below:

    Baby &
    Computers &amp:

    See attached image screencapture-focalads-2018-03-31-00_01_30.jpg

What's the reason for this as i am sure that the &amp should not be showing since they don't show on the main categories on the home page? Also where is the settings for how many categories show on home page too please.

    Thanks
    David

    Hello David,

Try to do the following: go to your categories with '&' character > Edit > submit 'Edit' button
    it should solve the problem

    Hi Rudi

I have tried your solution and it's fixed it however i have to do this for over 1500 categories is there a faster way to do this in bulk and why does it do it?

    Thanks
    David

    Hi Rudi

I spent the whole day with changing these categories today and ended up doing them twice because what i found out was if you have a category names like this example: Men's Clothes you will get the &amp error in the search category drop down menu on home page.

Once i removed the ' symbol from men's clothes like this: mens clothes this fixed the error so i had to change more than 1500 categories today editing each one which tells me that there is a script issue causing this problem..

    Thanks
    David

    Hi Rudi

Thanks for your reply about this as i thought at first it was just an issue on my site however you might also need to make changes in the category import tool to fall inline with fix otherwise we might encounter the same problems later?

    Thanks
    David

Forgot to mention did the fix also include the error with that symbol i mentioned also when you have say Men's Clothes as i title this will give the &amp in the category dropdown menu on home page but it's fine if you had Mens Clothes wrote like that?

And is this a fresh install i have to do or do a patch update?

    Thanks
    David
