How to change the color of a category?

Dear Flynax Developer,

I'm trying to change the color of several categories on homepage. I have apply this code to the css file:

div#categories_advertise_0 > ul > li > div.categoty-column:first-child > div.item {
color: red;
}

But it doesn't work, please give me some advice?
