try this. remove or uninstall the plugin, then download manually (much better if you have a previous version based on your experienced) the multifield plugin then upload FTP>plugins then activate it...

Did you try to refresh all in the admin panel > refresh.. some times you just need to update all of the buttons there..
and set a daily backup for your installation (files and database) to prevent...
