Make sure that:
- the option "Category search dropdown" is enabled for your listing type: Listing Types > your listing type > Edit > Search Settings > Category search dropdown > Yes
- categories exist and active for this listing type
- and try to refresh your system cache: Common > Refresh > Update system cache

'Update system cache' button is available only if the option 'Cache control' is enabled: Common > Basic Settings > Cache
probably, some 'All in One' hooks are missed in your database
