Issue with 404 errors on nearly every page

I am getting 404 errors on nearly every page:

This is a new installation. Can someone point me in the right direction to fix this please?

into .htaccess file.

Thanks for the suggestion. I created a new cpanel account on my hosting using the domain name directory.mysite.com - all of the files are in the public_html folder. Do I need to change the RewriteBase / line in .htaccess ? If so, what should I change it to?
