error_log file too big as 40mb

error_log file too big
My error_log file in the root directory is very big.

Can I delete this file, and a new one will automatically be generated?

Or do I need to re-create another empty one?
and how?

Of course you can remove this file. System create it automatically. But you can create a ticket and we will detect what exactly errors there and fix it.
