I would suggest creating a Akismet plugin as a replacement for the Captcha's
The advantages:
- users don't need to type a captcha
- so for users with less tech skills, it is much easier for them to fill out a contact form for instance
- spam is still kept out

basically, it is a good idea.
But furthermore Askimet is also not safe as claimed and it costs money.
I would rather suggest there another way.
Ghost Captcha from Codecanyon -> it works geat! Here the link -> LINK.
In GhostCaptcha user need also not enter code only if certain conditions arrive.
It costs only a small money and its a great tool.
