Need help with hyperlinking flash banner

Hi, I'm not too familiar with swf files but have created a small animated sidebar in After Effects and exported it as an swf file. When I upload it to the site, I am not given an option of the hyperlink of where I want that click to go to like I do with an image.

I've been researching and some people say I need to create an invisible button in flash (a program I have but am not familiar with) while others say the hyperlinking should be done through the website.

So I guess I want to know if I need to figure out how to embed a hyperlink into my swf through Adobe flash or how I do that through the software?

Can anybody offer any advice? Thank you!
