ERROR 404 page, cant have long description

Im trying to change the 404 page so it's saying more than "ERROR 404: Requested page not found"

But if i try to add some more text it wont show up at all.

Im trying to add like:

ERROR 404: Requested page not found

Reasons:
Either the listing have been sold or have expired.
Check if the link is correct.
If you have changed the listing, please allow up to 30min for it to reactivate.

I just get a blank page with no text. Well, not a full blank page, the sidebars and stuff are there
but nothing in the middle content section.

We should be able to have a longer description on why they are seeing a 404 page.

You have only to find the key "error_404" in your language, (Admin Section -> Common -> Language) and add your text

But the text i want to add makes the page blank.

After see your post I've do it too in my site, because I think it's a good idea, and this work very well.

Post your text, maybe you still to use some char that you cannot use

I made it work now.

I tried it using this text:

ERROR 404: Requested page not found<br><br>

But it need to look like this:
